    Congratulations 8th Graders!

    Hello Slater Families, 

    I am very excited to present this 8th grade awards slideshow to our Spartan community. Our students have been tested this year in so many ways that were/are challenging and unfair. But, as we know, life is not always fair. These experiences will make our Spartans stronger and more resilient. I can’t wait to see all the great accomplishments they are going to achieve in their high school years. I want to congratulate all our award winners in this presentation, but I also want to make sure that ALL our 8th grade students understand that they should be proud of their two years at Slater and their achievements during their Spartan experience. 

    So, without further ado, please enjoy this presentation, and I want to give a special recognition to Shelly Schubert, one of our school counselors, and Sandi Martin, our leadership teacher, for their efforts putting this presentation together. I hope everyone is able to enjoy our Summer Break, and I am looking forward to our next year together, no matter what the future holds!

    Slater Drop Off Event!

    Hello Spartan Community,

    We have set our dates for a drive-thru, drop off, and pick-up of textbooks, library books, uniforms, musical instruments, calculators, and any other items that belong to our school. The exception is Chromebooks and HotSpots that were distributed to students for "Distance Learning". We will not collect these Chromebooks and HotSpots at this time UNLESS YOUR STUDENT IS LEAVING THE SRCS DISTRICT. In that case, please return the Chromebook and/or HotSpot.

    Families will be picking up items that include locker contents, PE locker contents, yearbooks, awards, art projects, and items from teachers if pre-arranged. ALL OF THESE ITEMS WILL BE PLACED IN PLASTIC BAGS AND WE WILL PUT THE ITEMS IN THE TRUNK OR BACK OF YOUR VEHICLE. 

    The dates are going to be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday...June 2-4. Families will be given an hour window time slot based upon an alphabetical order by last name. Please try to arrive as best you can in that time slot, but we understand if you need to make an exception. PLEASE WEAR GLOVES AND A MASK. Our number one goal is to return and collect everything in a safe manner and adhere to social distancing guidelines for the protection of everyone. 

    When arriving at Slater, please enter from Sonoma Avenue and we will greet you and get your last name. We will then radio to staff members to begin retrieving your items and then you will proceed straight ahead towards the gymnasium. We will have tables set up for various items and we will place them in your vehicle. Once you get close to the gym, you will turn left towards Carley Road and then exit after getting your PE locker contents in front of the gym.

    Here is the schedule for your day and time slot according to your last name. Please come anytime within your one hour time window. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO COME RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE HOUR. In fact, it would be best for all, if families do not all come at the top of the hour.

    I hope everyone is healthy and ready to enjoy our Summer Break. I will, of course, pass along information as it becomes available regarding the start of the 2020-2021 school year. I want to wish our 8th graders nothing but the best during their high school career and I look forward to the day when I can see them in person.

    Hola comunidad espartana,

    Hemos establecido nuestras fechas para llevar, dejar y recoger libros de texto, libros de la biblioteca, uniformes, instrumentos musicales, calculadoras y cualquier otro artículo que pertenezca a nuestra escuela. Con la  excepción de Chromebooks y HotSpots que se distribuyeron a los estudiantes para "Aprendizaje a distancia". No recopilaremos estos Chromebooks y HotSpots en este momento A MENOS QUE SU ESTUDIANTE DEJE EL DISTRITO SRCS. En ese caso, devuelvan el Chromebook y / o HotSpot.

    Las familias recogerán artículos que se encontraban en los casilleros de los pasillos y en los vestidores de educación física, anuarios, certificados de reconocimientos, proyectos de arte y artículos de los maestros si se organizan previamente. TODOS ESTOS ARTÍCULOS SE COLOCARÁN EN BOLSAS DE PLÁSTICO Y NOSOTROS PONDREMOS TODO EN LA CAJUELA DE SU VEHÍCULO.

    Las fechas serán martes, miércoles y jueves ... 2-4 de Junio. Las familias recibirán un espacio de tiempo basado en un orden alfabético por apellido. Intente llegar lo mejor que puedas durante tu tiempo asignado, pero entendemos si necesita hacer una excepción. POR FAVOR UTILICE GUANTES Y UNA MÁSCARA. Nuestro objetivo número uno es regresar y recolectar todo de manera segura y cumplir con las pautas de distanciamiento social para la protección de todos.

     Al llegar a Slater, ingrese desde Sonoma Avenue y lo saludaremos y verificaremos su apellido. Luego nos comunicaremos por radio con los miembros del personal para comenzar a recuperar sus artículos, después usted se dirigirá hacia el gimnasio. Tendremos mesas para varios artículos y las colocaremos en su vehículo. Una vez  estando en el gimnasio, girara a la izquierda hacia Carley Road y saldrá una vez que haya obtenido  el contenido de su casillero de educación física frente al gimnasio.

     Aquí está el horario para su día y hora de acuerdo con su apellido. Venga en cualquier momento dentro de su plazo de una hora. NO TIENE QUE LLEGAR A LA HORA EXACTA. De hecho, sería mejor para todos si las familias vinieran esporádicamente.

    Espero que todos estén saludables y listos para disfrutar nuestras vacaciones de verano. Por supuesto, transmitiré información a medida que esté disponible con respecto al inicio del año escolar 2020-2021. Quiero desear a nuestros alumnos de 8º grado nada más que lo mejor en el futuro y espero con ansias el día en que pueda verlos en persona.
